As Darth Vader and company celebrate their 32nd birthday today, a new online poll named Star Wars the best science fiction movie of all time.

An online vote at Moviefone named Star Wars the best sci-fi flick -- with The Empire Strikes Back arriving just behind it at number two. The original Lucas blockbuster officially premiered on May 25, 1977. Nowadays, Moviefone voters named R2-D2 "Best Robot," Yoda "Best Alien," Han Solo "Best Hero" and Darth Vader "Best Villain."

Of equal important, those same voters tagged Battlefield Earth as the worst sci-fi film, beating out Plan 9 from Outer Space, Santa Clause Conquers the Martians, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier and Battle for the Planet of the Apes.
