We're about to see if the world is ready for a scruffy, sardonic, swashbuckling Sherlock Holmes.
The new trailer for Guy Ritchie's take on the world's first private consulting detective hit the web Tuesday. Gone are any signs of Deerstalker caps and magnifying glasses; in their place are straight left jabs and hand-cuffed bed posts.
Robert Downey Jr.'s Holmes has all the traditional wit and cleverness, but looks more Charlie Chaplin than Jeremy Brett. Jude Law seems right at home as the stern-jawed soldier-turned-physician, Dr. John Watson.
Sherlock Holmes is set to hit theaters this Christmas.
