The world has been waiting many years for the first glimpse at the new PlayStation 3 project from the creators of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. This could be it.
A video just released by PlayStation LifeStyle purports to be a work-in-progress early version of “Project Trico,” the code name for the third game in the innovative adventure series. The video depicts a game about a young boy and his giant animal companion, which is some kind of giant winged rat-dragon-dog thing.
Why should we believe that this is anything other than a fan-made wishful thinking video that’s intended to fool us all? Because a still frame that’s exactly like this video was circulated in early 2008 by the Ico team, when it was recruiting new staff members to work on this project.
So decide for yourself: It’s either the best, most amazing fake ever, because it recreates the chain-and-shadow image perfectly — or it’s the real deal. And by “real deal” I of course mean “a video that’s at least 18 months old.” The final game may have changed dramatically, when it’s officially revealed.
