From the “screenwriters are going to kick themselves for not thinking of this one” file comes the preview for a new German Norwegian horror film, Dead Snow — an epic that finally brings Nazi zombies to the big screen.
It’s not difficult to decipher the plot from the trailer (embedded above) because it’s hard to imagine a Nazi zombie movie being overly plot-rich in the first place. Evidently Nazis (like leprechauns and pirates) want their gold back even after death. When a bunch of dimwit, snowmobiling punks discover a box full of said auric treasures, out goose-step the dead brownshirts. General mayhem ensues.
Many critics will find it distasteful, and political activists may find it shocking to turn real historical monsters into cinematic boogiemen. But who are we kidding? It’s Nazi zombies, and the fanboys will be lining up in droves at the premiere and at grindhouse screenings until the end of time.
