Leonard Nimoy breaks type to do some comedy shtick during Thursday night's *Late Show With David Letterman. *In an appearance pegged to the release of J.J. Abrams' new Star Trek movie, Nimoy takes the stage of New York's Ed Sullivan Theater to present the "Top 10 Lines Never Before Said in a Star Trek Film."

The routine takes a poke at Abrams' younger, faster Trek, which has been retooled to resuscitate the sci-fi franchise for new audiences: Jokes include "Set phasers to fabulous!" (No. 8), "The Enterprise just hit a goose — we're gonna have to land in the Hudson" (No. 3) and "Live long, prosper and keep on hangin’ and bangin'" (No. 2). The show airs Thursday at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS.

Nimoy, who originated the role of Spock in the '60s Trek TV series and appears in this week's stylish reboot, also pops up next week on the Season 1 finale of Abrams' cryptoscience cop show Fringe.
