In this BBC video from inside the Tardis, outgoing show-runner Davies says farewell to the show he ushered back into existence after a long hiatus. While some hardcore fans disapproved of Davies’ lighter touch, there’s no question he reintroduced the show to countless children and reestablished Who as the BBC’s crown jewel.

Davies and Tennant’s departure now clears the way for incoming executive producer and head writer Steven Moffat and a new Doctor, Matt Smith. But that will still have to wait a bit as Tennant appears in three new special episodes, including “The Waters of Mars” and the year-end, two-part regeneration story (titles to be announced).
