A Philadelphia man who needed a new kidney owes his life-saving transplant to Star Wars fandom.
Jeffrey Romanoff, a member of a Star Wars/Stormtroopers fan club known as The 501st Legion, received his new kidney from Eric Seemann — also a member of the 501st.
Romanoff underwent the procedure April 3 and left the hospital Thursday under full guard and regalia, courtesy of his fellow faux-Imperials.
