The first details for the 2009 iteration of Seattle's Penny Arcade Expo have emerged, offering prospective attendees an idea of what they can expect to see from this year's show.
Described at great length by Penny Arcade director of business development Robert Khoo as "the biggest show west of the
Mississippi within the continental United States that focuses on games that isn't
E3 or affiliated in some way with NBC," PAX 2009 will include musical appearances by Freezepop, Jonathan Coulton, MC Frontalot, Anamanaguchi.
Each of those artists has appeared at previous editions of the show, but 2009's lineup will also feature new artists Paul and Storm and Metroid Metal, the latter of whom will be offering a new "Best Of" album as an early PAX exclusive before offering it to the general public.
On the gaming company side of things, the show is said to feature "over 60 exhibitors,
including top publishers Microsoft,Nintendo, Valve, Blizzard and
Ubisoft."
We expect confirmations from a number of other gaming firms over the next few months, alongside word of what these publishers and developers might have on hand for the show.
