A blog playing around with iPhone 3.0 Beta discovered an interesting Easter egg — a screen that suggests the next OS will introduce a video recorder.

Engadget Mobile discovered the menu in the MobileMe application and snapped a screenshot (right). The screen reads "Publish Video" at the top; this menu reportedly appears in MobileMe when you attempt to publish photos.

Engadget theorized this is a typo, but MacRumors states its more optimistic belief that the 3.0 OS will introduce video recording to the iPhone.

We agree with MacRumors: We know video is certainly doable, since a video recorder is already available for Jailbroken (i.e., hacked) iPhones. Plus, plenty of competing cellphones can shoot video, and it's about time Apple caught up.
