The film and television content available for download from the PlayStation Network received a big boost today with the launch of offerings from NBC Universal's vast selection of shows.
Included in the new offerings are films such as The 40 Year Old Virgin and The Big Lebowski and television shows such as 30 Rock and Battlestar Galactica. "New episodes will be added the day after they air, in both HD and SD," according to Sony's official PlayStation blog.
Though it still can't quite compete with the vast selection on offer from Netflix on the Xbox 360, offering fan favorites like BSG to a receptive PS3 demographic is a smart move on both Sony and NBC's part.
