11It's been a busy 24 hours for Marvel Studios as another big star signed on to Iron Man II, while two related franchises went into hibernation for another year.

Scarlett Johansson will join Robert Downey Jr. and Mickey Rourke in the Iron Man sequel as Russian superspy Black Widow -- following up on her "triumphant" turn in The Spirit. She and Rourke will make up a villainous Russian one-two punch to vex Tony Stark between martinis, according to PopWatch.

Meanwhile, delays in getting Iron Man II up and running forced Marvel to delay its Thor and Avengers movies for a year, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Thor will thunder our way in 2011, and a Jon Favreau-directed Avengers flick will follow in 2012.

*Spider-Man 4 *and Captain America: The First Avenger, both due in summer 2011, got moved a little bit in the schedule juggling, the trade paper reports.
