In a plan sure to endear Paramount and J.J. Abrams to fans living in the country of Star Trek's birth, the rest of the world will see Captain Kirk and company's new adventure before any paying moviegoer on American soil.
Star Trek will premiere in Australia on April 7 with the full contingent of stars before embarking on a month-long world tour of New Zealand, the U.K., France and Japan.
U.S. Trekkers won't get a look at the new Trek until May 8.
