Feeling like your iPhone is lacking that nostalgic gaming spark? Good news: Mobile game developer Gameloft is crafting a port of the Apple II classic Oregon Trail for the status symbol *du jour *and a number of other fancy portable phones.
The screens revealed by the developer so far betray a cartoony vibe for this iteration, but the description of the game on the dev's website seems convincing enough that this version will contain all the buffalo-slaying fun of the original.
Then again, maybe that's just me hoping against hope for some quality, mobile Oregon Trail action. I've played the short demo on Gameloft's site three times now and based on that I'm optimistic.
Too bad Gameloft offers no hint as to when the game might see release.
