As springtime approaches, a young Hollywood exec’s fancy turns to summer blockbusters. Now that the pretentious, sluggish award movie season is over, the studios should be revving up publicity on their tent-pole movies for the warm weather months.
Right on cue, movie fans received three "behind the scenes" featurettes this weekend to build buzz for Star Trek, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
MTV offered up the first two, including the Trek feature at the top and Transformers. There’s surprisingly little new in the Star Trek preview, begging a couple questions. Is Paramount reluctant to let us peek more at the plot of this epic because it’s bound to cheese off fans? Or is the studio just being coquettish to keep everybody guessing? One thing is certain. It’s getting tiresome hearing how "amazing" everyone and everything is with this movie. It’d be nice to see more of it for ourselves.
You’ll see plenty in the Transformers sneak below. I’m just guessing here, but I think director Michael Bay likes to blow stuff up.
Finally, MovieWeb serves up a surprising look at the next Potter flick. While most fans agree the books get darker as the seven-part series wraps up, it looks like Half-Blood Prince takes a lighter approach below.
