Metal Gear Online
- has yet another content pack en route. Dubbed "SCENE" this latest downloadable add-on brings with it three new multiplayer maps, two, much-requested characters from Metal Gear Solid 4 and "a couple surprises," according to the official PlayStation blog.
The new maps include Outer Outlet, "an all new environment that takes place in a commercial mall," Hazard House, which is set in a three-story mansion, and Ravaged Riverfront, a level reminiscent of the Eastern European cityscape from Metal Gear Solid 4's third act.
Most players however, will be buying SCENE specifically for the two new characters it adds to the online multiplayer arena: The androgynous cybernetic ninja Raiden, and the equally androgynous, supernatural Vamp.
It's obvious from the PlayStation.blog entry that some of the pack's content has yet to be disclosed, but Konami's Brandon Laurino also reveals the inclusion of a special gift for those who pre-order the pack: The "cardboard man" head gear, which seems to simply be one of Metal Gear Solid's iconic boxes repurposed into a hat.
Though the post offers no solid details on SCENE's release date -- aside from saying it will appear in March -- Laurino promises a trailer for the expansion next week.
