Daleks and Cyberman excel at murder and discussion. But can they sing and dance? In fact, how do you "jazz hand" with a plunger?
Those questions and others will be answered if plans go ahead to bring Doctor Who to the stage in a big-budget production.
Early reports are sketchy as the prime source for the news is The Sun, but the proposed family stage show would combine live-action performers and 3-D video of fans' favorite stars in a production suitable for huge venues like London's O2. Favorite monsters like the above-mentioned baddies, Sontarans and others would appear.
It wouldn't be the first time Doctor Who trod the footlights. For example, The Doctor took on his archfoes on the London stage in the mid-'70s with Doctor Who and the Daleks in the Seven Keys to Doomsday.
