With the economy in the shape we're facing, it's a good thing to find a cheap doctor when you need one. The BBC is getting off light in its new contract with the 11th Doctor Who, Matt Smith, inked Wednesday.
Signing on for a salary lower than predecessor David Tennant, Smith is locked up for three years on the show with an option for another two. The entire contract will pay Smith a cool million quid.
That may not seem like a lot of money for such a huge international role, but rest assured Smith will cash in through other means and other productions when Who is on hiatus.
