Elvis Presley, the king of rock 'n' roll and a founding member of the genre's Hall of Fame, would have been 74 Thursday -- and fans from around the world made the annual pilgrimage to Graceland to celebrate the event.
Memphis Mayor A.C. Wharton commemorated the event, while Ruth Moore Cobb (original, pre-Elvis Graceland resident) received the first piece of birthday cake. No, it wasn't peanut butter and banana flavored, as that would lend new meaning to the term "hacky."
For those fans still unable to let the man rest in peace, you can still report an "Elvis sighting" here.
