LittleBigPlanet Meets Metal Gear Solid, Awesomeness Ensues

Okay, this is more like it.

Sony hasn’t exactly been generous with the pricing on digital content, which has pretty much kept me away from picking up any of the admittedly sweet Sackboy costumes. Come December 23rd, that’s all about to change. Media Molecule has just announced the LittleBigPlanet Premium Level and Costume Packs, Metal Gear Solid edition.

Media Molecule makes some fantastic levels, and I’m an unapologetic Metal Gear fanboy. But that’s not why I’ll be shelling out $6 to buy the Metal Gear level pack. No, it’s all about that paintball gun. The only thing missing from my ideal LittleBigPlanet experience has been a bit of armed combat.

Though I probably would’ve shelled out $6 for the joy of splattering my foes in paint, the level pack isn’t shy on features: six bucks gets you a new costume, new objects, 5 new story levels, new music, 12 new trophies, and a few new tools and dangers for crafting your ideal, war-torn Sackboy nightmare.

While you’ll still be able to play on levels that feature all of this new content, you won’t get to keep any of the new items and tools unless you pay for the pack.

If all you were really interested in was playing as Solid SackSnake, then you’ll have to pony up $2 for the costume, or another $6 for a completely separate costume pack — I guess they had to get us somewhere.
