It's nice to see Microsoft Windows engineers tackling its issues in a very scientific manner. In a recent post to its Engineering Windows blog, the operating system designers addressed one of Vista's primary gripes -- too many notifications and security messages.
The consensus? Windows Vista interrupts your day too much. Roughly 40% of the times you use Vista, it will interrupt you with three security messages. Windows engineers claim the next version of Windows might have the same number of security messages, but they'll be less intrusive and more informative.
The bright side of the graphs and figures is Windows 7 looks to be a lot less in your face when it comes to the annoying security messages and dialogs. At the end of the day, it means less button pushing interruptions and, overall, a better workflow. In that respect alone, Windows 7 is looking to be the least annoying thing we've seen out of Redmond for a while.
