Cinematic Titanic‘s final DVD release of 2008 will be a holiday-themed episode that doubles as a call-back to the days of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Wired.com reported weeks ago that Joel Hodgson and his Titanic crew were planning a fifth DVD as an end-of-2008 surprise. Right on time, the group announced Monday the Nov. 20 release of Santa Clause Conquers the Martians (trailer embedded).
This marks the first time Cinematic Titanic is returning to a title already riffed by MST3K back in the ’90s. But Hodgson, Trace Beaulieu, Mary Jo Pehl, Frank Conniff and J. Elvis Weinstein pack in all-original material and a few minutes of the film cut from the Mystery Science version because of time constraints.
And both versions pack in piles of young Pia Zidora almost acting, so how can you go wrong?
