LittleBigPlanet's community site has evolved into a fledgling social networking experience called the LittleBigWorkshop, adding a few new options to help budding level designers ply their trade.
Once you've logged in with your Playstation Network ID, you'll be presented with a personal profile. Here you'll be able to add Workshops and Inspirations – YouTube clips and Images, respectively – in addition to filling in a bit of personal information (if you want to share your Facebook page with countless strangers, for example).
In the Workshop room, you can look at all of the video clips other users have uploaded filtered by date, popularity, or tags. Most are LittleBigPlanet-related, varying between level showcases and tutorials on building user-made creations. The Inspiration room lets users upload images that inspire their levels – whether they're into fuzzy squirrels or rollercoasters.
The most interesting section by far is the Blueprint room, where you'll be able to while away the hours you should be spending at work, designing new levels. Once you're done with a sketch, you can save it to your computer or even print it, and have a guide to help the building process. This sort of thing would be perfect on the PSP (and exactly what my utter lack of artistic vision needs).
There isn't much else up on the site, but I've already gotten a few good ideas on building switches and elevators. As with most Web 2.0-related affairs, more features are forthcoming – fans should go ahead and bookmark the site.
