Kirby rules the roost, at least according to this week's Japan sales reports.
The new Hoshi no Kirby: Ultra Super Deluxe for the Nintendo DS -- a port of a Super Nintendo title -- easily tops the charts with sales of 266,000 units. No big surprise there:* Kirby* games have done traditionally well on the DS in Japan, and rarely will you catch a Japanese schoolboy who doesn't have at least one Kirby game in his game case. I was so sure it was going to hit #1 that I took this photo last week, on its day of release.
Elsewhere, Grand Theft Auto IV shows that it has some legs, with the PlayStation 3 version dropping down just a few notches to #5 -- the Xbox 360 version drops down to #22.
