In a vicious attack against the productivity of countless old-school adventure game fans, Tim Schafer has released the design document to the sensational Grim Fandango.

Grim Fandango is a game that's very dear to my heart, which makes this news extra special. For the unfamiliar, it was released by LucasArts way back in 1998, when point-and-click adventure games were still fashionable. It stars Manny Calavera, a travel agent for the Land of the Dead on an epic quest to score the ultimate commission, unraveling an engrossing tale of corruption along the way.

This 72-page design document is a hefty bit of gaming history, chock full of sketches, puzzle descriptions and solutions – so shelve it if you don't want the whole game ruined.

There are also plenty of items in the 2.3MB PDF file that didn't actually make the final cut, providing a captivating peek into the mind of the guy who made Psychonauts – coincidentally, a game about peeking into minds. It's all been made available for download, so head over and grab a rather insightful piece of gaming history.
