Captainrex_4More than 30 years after every kid went trick or treating as Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader in one of those sharp-edged plastic masks with the the uncomfortable rubber band, the new hit Cartoon Network series, The Clone Wars, had boys and girls back out there as Captain Rex (right) or Jango Fett.

Much to the chagrin of hard-core, traditional fans who cursed George Lucas' new CGI series and its tie-in feature film as a cheap sell-out to a younger generation, the ratings and retail success of The Clone Wars has Star Wars back on top of the pop culture world, rubbing armored elbows with Iron Man, Batman and other 2008 phenoms.

According to multiple online lists, Star Wars costumes were back in high demand this Halloween as the children of Star Wars-era parents hunted candy door to door in the same (if updated) costumes their folks wore decades ago.
