Wii Music is out in Japan today, and even though the North American release is but a few days away -- October 20 to be precise -- the curious can already get an idea of what the complete list of licensed songs will look like.
Licensed songs would mean anything that isn't public domain or from a Nintendo game, and that makes up 14 of the 50 tracks included in the game.
Variety's The Cut Scene blog provides the full lineup. Note that there are no master recordings.
- "Chariots of Fire" - Vangelis
- "Daydream Believer" - The Monkees
- "Every Breath You Take" - Sting
- "I'll Be There" - Jackson 5
- "I've Never Been to Me" - Charlene
- "Material Girl" - Madonna
- "Please Mr. Postman" - The Marvellettes
- "September" - Earth, Wind and Fire
- "Sukiyaki" - Kyu Sakamoto
- "The Loco-Motion" - Little Eva
- "Woman" - John Lennon
- "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" - Wham!
- "Jingle Bell Rock" - Bobby Helms
- "Do-Re-Mi" - Rogers and Hammerstein (from The Sound of Music)
So, what do you think? Not exactly in the caliber of Guitar Hero or Rock Band, but then again, that's not exactly the point.
