RipgoodtimesPredictions of traditional media's demise are greatly exaggerated. Or slightly exaggerated, according to the leader of PricewaterhouseCoopers' entertainment and media practice.

"Traditional media isn't dead yet and won't be for the next five years," said Marcel Fenez, a PwC media honcho. He was speaking at a newspaper conference in Hong Kong which was covered by the Press Gazette. "It's very important to think why," he said. "The over-50s are helping to sustain traditional media . . . The death of traditional media is exaggerated, at least in a five-year context."

But if Fenez meant to reassure media execs, he probably didn't succeed. If anything, he suggests traditional media as we know it today will no longer exist in five years' time.
