Those 20 free downloadable tracks promised within the Rock Band 2 manual finally have a release date: November 4, according to IGN.
The 20 tracks are predominantly from obscure bands such as Kutless and X Japan, leading me to believe that Harmonix wanted to use this as a chance to promote lesser known acts (or that the firm prefers to save the more beloved tracks for paying customers).
Those of you who purchased Rock Band 2 need only look toward the back of the game's manual for instructions on how to download the new tracks. It's a somewhat convoluted process in which you have to visit the Rock Band site, enter a serial number and wait for an official email, but most would agree that free content is worth it.
