Still on the fence about picking up a copy of Arcade Mania: The Turbo-Charged World of Japan's Game Centers? I've got excerpts for you, lots of them.

This week's issue of Tokyo city guide Metropolis kindly provides a four-page spread of excerpts and side-boxes taken directly from the book, and it's also currently featured on the magazine's website.

What's Arcade Mania? That would be the definitive guide to Japan's game centers authored by Kotaku's Brian Ashcraft, and side-kicked by yours truly.

If you can't wait for the January 2009 North American and European release of the book, you can always get your hands on it now by ordering it from Japan through Amazon Japan, Kodansha International (the publisher), or White Rabbit Press.

Also, there's been some confusion on this, but please note that the version on sale in Japan is in fact in English, and is the exact same book that will be released worldwide in January.
