In case you're on the fence about joining yet another MMO, Sony Online Entertainment has just instituted a 14-day free trial offer for Pirates of the Burning Sea.
As is the norm with these sorts of offers, once you have visited the game's trial website, entered your email address, name and credit card info, you're given the chance to experience the game for two weeks. Once that period is over you can continue playing, only you'll have to shell out the cash for the game's $15 per month subscription.
I wouldn't recommend Pirates to absolutely everyone -- its a bit more "meticulous" than some of its competitors -- but if you're looking to get away from traditional orcs and elves-style MMO gaming, the 14-day free trial should give you enough time to decide if you prefer life as a pirate.
