TOKYO -- Microsoft announced a few new games for Xbox 360 Thursday, including the first next-gen entry in Namco Bandai's Tekken fighting game series.

Microsoft's John Schappert said in his Tokyo Game Show keynote Thursday morning that Tekken 6 would appear "at launch" on the Xbox 360, which would indicate that it will also be on PlayStation 3. The arcade version of the game, pictured above, was released in 2007.

Other games announced for 360 include Space Invaders Extreme, the first console version of the Nintendo DS and PSP techno-enhanced reimagining of the classic franchise, for Xbox Live Arcade. Another downloadable title, R-Type Dimensions, is a new entry in the space shooter series featuring both 2-D and 3-D graphics modes. Similarly, Arkanoid Live will update the classic block-breaking game with online cooperative and versus play.

Microsoft also said that a sequel to Ninety-Nine Nights is coming to Xbox 360, developed by Q Entertainment and FeelPlus. Considering that the first game was basically terrible, I have no idea why they'd do this.
