Patch 1.02 has been released for Electronic Arts' Spore, addressing numerous bugs in the game and adding a few bits of content for fans who've already grown tired of the evolution simulator.
Key additions include the physically improbable "Cube" planet style, improved walking animations for multi-legged and no-legged creatures, and a number of fixes designed to alleviate crashing problems under certain conditions.
Maxis also removed the "Bad Baby" achievement, a goal previously attained by being banned from the Sporepedia. Though an interesting goal by itself, players opting to attain the "Bad Baby" honor would thereafter be barred from one of the game's key features.
Spore fans can download the patch by launching the EA Download Manager. Those that didn't opt to install the Download Manager when installing Spore can retrieve the program from EA's servers.
