'They Saved Hitler's Brain' for a Musical

You may think you have everything you need what with your iPhone and your hybrid and your hula hoops. But you have yet to receive the pleasure only a staged musical based on the 1963 cinematic masterpiece They Saved Hitler’s Brain can goose-step into your heart.

Jon and Al Kaplan, the songwriters who asked you to "put the lotion on your skin" with The Silence of the Lambs parody Silence! The Musical, are behind this more melodic version of the Crown International Productions classic.

In the original film, as World War II draws to a close, Nazis cut off and save Hitler’s head (which they’re prone to do). The SS boys then head to South America (which they are definitely prone to do) so Hitler can rule over the second version of the Third Reich (or the first version of the Fourth Reich) from the inside of an electric fish tank (pictured).

There’s no word yet on whether this adaptation will lead Hitler’s glass-encased, Chaplain-esque ‘stache back to the big screen. But cult films have made the journey before, such as the landmark Little Shop of Horrors.
