Game Republic (Genji: Days of the Blade, Folklore) is no stranger to downloadable PlayStation 3 titles, and the next move for the Japanese developer is to go big on board games.
Previous PlayStation Network releases from the company include dungeon crawler Dark Mist and racer Toy Home, and next up is an all-new version of German strategy board game Settlers of Catan, which will come out December 18 on the PlayStation Store in all regions. Note that this is not the Big Huge Games-developed version of the game that came out last year on Xbox Live Arcade.
But the board and card game invasion doesn't stop there, since Game Republic will be following that up with Shadow Hunters, Owner's Choice, and Trick & Treat, all planned as 2009 releases, and offering multi-player online modes.
These last three are listed as multi-platform, so could be heading to all the major download services.
