One of this year's best-selling titles in Japan, Monster Hunter Portable 2G for the PSP, is coming to North America in spring 2009 as Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.
One of the new features coming to the expanded sequel -- and also found in the Japanese version -- is the addition of an AI companion for solo play. Expects lots of new creatures and quests as well, and some brand new weaponry to help you on your hunt.
The Monster Hunter series has so far not found the success in North America that it enjoys in Japan, where gamers are fine with the limits of the game's ad-hoc only multiplayer, but Sony's "Adhoc Party for PSP" could change that.
Announced last week -- the beta version will launch in Japan on October 30 -- the new service will allow PlayStation 3 owners to play PSP games with ad-hoc modes online. The service will also support voice chat.
