Movies are simply delicious on the huge, 480 x 320 screen, and it doesn't get hot during playback. So feature-packed it's almost a stand-alone computer.

Version 1.x owners have to pay for upgrade to OS 2.1. Battery life could be better, and 8 video playback stops when power dips below 10 percent.

It's relatively weighty (4.05 ounces) but slim, and 32 gigs of storage give it grown-up media-player chops. We just wish the battery lasted a bit longer.
