Downturn_2Americans may downgrade cable service and cut back on trips to the movies in the wake of a rotten economy, according to a Solutions Research Group study.

More than half the participants in the study said they may go to the movies less often. Those with cell phones said they are considering canceling their landlines, and 39 percent of respondents said they may cut satellite or cable television services.

And when it comes to DVDs, participants said they plan to buy fewer new DVDs or start renting more often.
