https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_D45dRcehgYes, it's a blatant Zero Punctuation ripoff. WhistleBlowerZero makes no attempt to mask that fact. But instead of channeling nerdrage at game developers, this three-part series (broken up into nine episodes) attacks GameStop from the experience of a former employee.
I've a troubled relationship with that particular brick-and-mortar institution. As a wee lad, I remember trying to offload Daytona USA for the Dreamcast, and being offered a price in the single digits, despite the fact that they were selling it (used) for 30 bucks. And yes, I did get the Edge card with the Game Informer subscription. But I was young, and foolish.
Those traumatic experiences have resulted in a rather impressive stack of titles I'll never actually play again (why oh why do I own every single Spyro adventure), and not enough motivation to deal with eBay.
Sure, there are plenty of other options – if I can't get it from Steam, I get it from Amazon – but even despite the crude animation and painful voice acting, it's still a fun and “informative” mini-series.
Chris says: I should show you this article I wrote a long time ago called "Funcoland: Putting the F-U In Fun."
