Well, the hotly anticipated New York installment of All Tomorrow's Parties is here. My Bloody Valentine has at last reformed and returned to America for the first time in nearly two decades, and has curated one hell of a weekend lineup to boot. Listening Post will be spending the next two days soaking in the noise, so My Bloody Valentine haters, you know who you are, might want to get off here.
OK, now we can commence with the festivities. First up is a video for "You Made Me Realise," one of the loudest songs My Bloody Valentine ever made. The 1988 classic features a cacophonous middle once called "the holocaust section" by the band, which is currently using the tune as an ear-splitting finale. I hope ATP festivalgoers remembered to bring their earplugs, because it's going to be deafening.

On Saturday, underrated bands like Polvo, Shellac, Les Savy Fav, Low and more take the stage in New York. And on Sunday, the sonics hit the fan when Mogwai, Dinosaur Jr., Cocteau Twins' Robin Guthrie and more close out the show, with My Bloody Valentine batting cleanup and most likely hitting it out of the park. Listening Post will have interviews with Mogwai and Autolux, who had to bow out because of an incoming bundle of joy, in honor of the show.
Tune in, turn up, freak out. And don't let those bed bugs bite.
