Sony Online Entertainment is "definitely looking at" bringing a massively multiplayer online game to Sony's PlayStation Portable, reports MTV's Multiplayer Blog.
"I think PSP is something that we’re definitely looking at; 34 million sold worldwide really opens your eyes, and they’re all connected," said SOE head John Smedley.
"We started to get very interested in the PSP when we switched over from Sony Pictures to Sony Computer Entertainment back in April," he adds. "And as we’ve kind of got our heads up looking around the world within
Sony Computer Entertainment, we’re really starting to see a big push for PSP. We think it’s a world-class device… In the future, we see full
MMOs that are designed for the PSP."
No doubt the massive success of Capcom's PSP-exclusive Monster Hunter MMO series *-- to wit: Monster Hunter 2nd G *sold a million copies in Japan only 6 days after release -- caught Sony's eye, a company notorious for their especially rabid pursuit of profits.
