San Francisco, Miami, Los Angeles, Dallas, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia are all more "connected" than New York City, according to a MultiMedia Intelligence survey.
The study looked at adoption of home networks (e.g. multiple connected PCs and printers) and found that approximately 28 percent of San Franciscans surveyed have some sort of home network in place, compared to 22 percent in New York (ranked 7th) and just 15 percent in Cleveland, the lowest-ranked (14th) city in the study.
MultiMedia Intelligence also found that people with more money were more likely to have a home network. Households with an income above $250,000 had a 40 percent adoption rate of home networking technologies, according to the study, while only 7 percent of households with incomes below $25,000 had home networks.
