Update: The rumor of a layoff memo has been debunked by Yahoo.
Rumors are floating around of a internal memo that could be released today announcing a series of layoffs at Yahoo, reports Valleywag.
Yahoo may be cutting costs for the period ending September 30 to bolster its third quarter earnings report, which is scheduled to be announced on October 21, according to Kara Swisher from All Things Digital.
“Top execs are telling some employees that the company is considering options to get itself sized right for an expected slowdown in the advertising market,” she writes based on tips from “several sources.”
