Yes, we know Internet Explorer 6 is a pain to support, but for many of us, it's a reality. Luckily, there are some tried-and-true tricks for at least making your site look OK in that browser from 2001.
I haven't found a single place that lists all the bugs (maybe there are too many?), but the three below cover some of the common ones. Some bugs are so big, they're covered in all three. Everyone wants to fix the double-margin bug, right?
- Cedric Dugas shares solutions to 6 CSS bugs in IE6. From PNG transparency to duplicated list items, he has some quick fixes.
- Wipeout44 shows how to write IE-specific CSS and fix your lightbox, among a few other bug-squashings.
- Anthony Short focuses mostly on font issues, but he also hits on clearing floats and the annoying expanding box.
There have got to be bugs these pages haven't covered. What's your biggest IE6 pet peeve?
