He's collaborated with Patti Smith and Sofia Coppola, remixed The Go! Team and Mogwai, and even recently reformed his legendary band My Bloody Valentine for a mad payday. And now he's thrown down guitar for Irish songbird Gemma Hayes for a free download called "Out of Our Hands" from RCRD LBL.
So much for Kevin Shields, the slacker.
Usually, Listening Post doesn't link to MP3s embedded on other sites, but we'll pretty much follow Shields anywhere, especially to RCRD LBL, one of the cooler online music outlets alive. The legendary guitarist's jagged chops on "Out of Our Hands" counterpose nicely with Gemma Hayes' otherwise airy pop, proving once and for all that sonic innovation pretty much goes with anything.
