Yesterday, Listening Post (and everyone else) reported that Kanye West and his manager Don Crowley broke some stalkarazzi cameras at LAX, leading to an arrest and a possible felony vandalism charge. Further developments in the case have revealed that West might walk, because he only broke the camera's comparatively cheap light unit, while Crowley took care of the more expensive destruction.

"We did some checking and found the light unit is only worth around$100," explained TMZ who, pardon the pun, first broke the video. "So here's the irony – the bodyguard could be processed for afelony, but not Kanye."

Uh, that's not irony, TMZ. That's the penal code. I guess it would be irony if you were trying to harass Kanye into a felony vandalism charge, and walked away empty-handed. But then again, it would also be justice.

My post stirred up some otherworldly comments here on Wired. "Die already, Kanye, you fucking retard," one reader ranted, while others accused me of being a "moron," "idiot" and other such nonsense just for writing the post. To them, I say simply, "Thanks for your traffic, and come again!"

As for West, who's more valuable as a celebrity than a rapper, he's fine with being photographed, even by paid stalkers. The LAX shutterbug just crossed the line.

"I'm cool with the paparazzi," he wrote on his blog Friday morning. "This guy wasn't cool."

Comments? Fire away, people. I'll be here all night.
