Video artists from Eclectic Method, comprising members of the '90s – video scratching group Emergency Broadcast Network, made a nifty video for Innerpartysystem's zeitgeist-friendly song "Feed the Rich; Fuck the Poor."
The – video, an immersive indictment of what an Innerpartysystem spokeswoman called "our TMZ-addicted culture," is entertaining enough in its own right. But it's just the beginning.
Eclectic Method also put together an excellent remix widget that lets anyone layer vocal/video samples using the number keys on their computer keyboard. This might sound a little wonky, and you may think you've "been there and done that," but I thought it was too much fun not to share. Within a couple of minutes of playing, I was transported from my desk to a stage in my mind where dancing throngs hung on my every video scratching decision.
Once you get the numerical key triggering system down, hit the record buttton tocreate a video remix that can be shared with anyone using a simple URL. To that end,
here's the mix I just put together.
There's a slight amount of latency in the tool, I slipped up a few times and the ending comes a bit suddenly, but with a little practice,
I could have gotten this much tighter. Enough excuses – it's a great way to spenda few minutes having fun and come away with something you (sort of)
made.
This is entertainment.
