Marvel Comics is swimming in adaptations these days, and it's not being stingy with the graphics, either. Underwire landed a few panels of eye candy from its latest revision, The Stand: Captain Trips, for your viewing pleasure.
The Stand: Captain Trips is a graphic novel based on what some argue is Stephen King's finest book, The Stand, a post-apocalyptic horror classic that has already been revised by its author once and served as the basis for a TV miniseries. It remains a sprawling amalgam of Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and popular pandemic narratives, and has since inspired everything from Lost to the horrid orchestral metal of Yngwie Malmsteen.
In other words, it's got reach.
Marvel is taking a shot at The Stand this time, breaking down the book's first part, "Captain Trips," into a five-issue series, before moving on to the rest of the tome. Here's a look at what's in store for the first bit.
