Rumors of the drum and bass's death may have been exaggerated. After we posted about a group called pH10, the first music in that sped-up-drumbeat style to come our way in years, Jacob Britsch of the 412DNB Pittsburgh Drum and Bass Crew emailed us to let us know that the scene is still going strong; it's just gone further underground.

"Jungle/drum and bass did not go anywhere, and who ever said it was played out? It has been around... DNB is still huge over in the UK. The pop culture just doesn't know about it because they are brainwashed into MTV and pop music on the radio," adding later, "I am hoping that the internet continues to increase people's interest in other music. I mean how long can the world go listening to the same 5 songs on the radio?"

Fair enough.

I asked Britsch to send over the names of some new drum and bass artists that are worth checking out. You be the judge. Is drum and bass still going strong or is it played out? Take a listen, then vote below:

For those in the Pittsburgh area that want to track down some drum and bass club action, Britsch says he's booked LTJ Bukem and MC Conrad for an October 8th show.
