Blizzard has decided to grant World of Warcraft players the ability to transfer from Player versus Environment servers to Player versus Player servers, reversing their previous stance on the issue.
Originally Blizzard argued that players on PvE servers could more easily acquire equipment that would allow them an unfair advantage over those WoW fans who had worked their way through 70 levels of opposing players looking to murder them at every opportunity.
"As the state of the game has matured substantially since the inception of Paid Character Transfers, we will now be allowing PvE-to-PvP transfers on a full-time basis to provide players with more mobility and freedom to easily play with their friends," a Blizzard customer service representative wrote on the game's official forums.
As many forum posters have pointed out, this alteration also gives Blizzard the opportunity to make tons of cash from players opting to use the $25 Paid Character Transfer system to leap to PvP servers, presumably in an attempt to exploit the perceived advantage they might have over long-time PvP server residents.
