The WB will croak again. The defunct channel (with its tuxedo-suited amphibian mascot) is setting up shop online, with plans to serve up an extensive catalog of proven network hits as well as a slate of fresh web-only programming.

Whedonites will be pleased to see full-length episodes of space Western Firefly on TheWB.com, along with Buffy the Vampire Slayer (pictured above) and its bloodsucker spinoff* Angel.* Additional shows that will be available at the online hub include: '90s sketch comedy show In Living Color, extraterrestrial drama Roswell, Superman show Smallville, Gilmore Girls, The O.C. and Friends.

The original web series being trotted out by the online network all have the familiar ring of shows that have struck it big, both online and off. Sorority Forever, starring Jessica Rose of LonelyGirl15 fame, debuts Sept. 8, followed by Rich Girl, Poor Girl, an MTV-style reality show about wealthy teens; High Drama: Against All Oz, about a high school musical; and Aussie surf academy drama Blue Water High.

The site is currently in private beta, with plans to open its doors Aug. 27.
